Schlanders Laas

Halfway between the Reschen Pass and the spa resort of Merano you will find the villages of Schlanders and Laas with the boroughs of Kortsch, Göflan, Vetzan, Nördersberg, Sonnenberg, Eyrs, Cengles, Alliz, Tanas, Tarnell and Parnetz. Nature is remarkable and reveals its many faces: the thick woods and green meadows of Mount Nörderberg (stretching also into the Stilfs National Park), the slopes covered with vineyards and the chestnut groves at the feet of Mount Sonnenberg, the barren expanses above the town of Laas which are the home to rare animal and Mediterranean plant species. The main town of the Schlanders Valley with its large pedestrian area is marked by a pleasant "town" atmosphere. The town of Laas is famous for its marble known as "white gold".
